I had my first ever overnight babysitting experience - two nights with three little ones. (ages 5 months, 2 years, and 3&1/2) We all had a ton of fun together from daily tasks of meals, baths, and naps to fun times with books, Legos, and in the backyard.
Elijah (the 3&1/2 yr old) had a blast at his first ever carwash and told anyone who would listen all about it. He said his favorite parts were washing the cars and drying the cars, as well as snack time. Not sure what he didn't like about it, but apparently those were the highlights. :) He is the sweetest big brother and would always let me know if one sister was crying. It is so sweet because he can tell their cries apart even if they are sleeping in the same room at the same time. I do believe his definition of "whisper" is the same as the average person's definition of "yell", but I think all toddler boys have the same problem. ;)
Anytime Vanessa hears me in the kitchen she rushes in and pulls up her little chair to help me in whatever I am doing - whether it is cooking, dishes, or just standing and singing to me while I work. Her favorite part of the day is teeth-brushing and she always takes advantage to brush her teeth for as long as allowed. :) Her post-nap time hair-do's will put a smile on anyone's face -- I have never seen curls from the back of anyone's head become "bangs" that quickly. ;) She always has a hug and a smile for little "Mia Mia" and always readily offers to help feed, burp, or change her baby sister.
Baby yawns have to be the most heart-melting thing in this world. Seriously, SO ADORABLE. Baby laughs are up there too, but the yawns take the cake. Amelia and I spent a lot of time together throughout the weekend, including at 3 in the morning. ;) I had so much fun getting my dose of baby giggles and cuddles.
Elijah has a bit of an obsession with hippos but has no clue what sound they make. We've been trying to decide if they "neigh", "roar", "growl", or what? What noise do hippos make? Doesn't everyone need to know?
So, between the many choruses of "Miss Hannah, Miss Hannah", diapers to change, and hugs to give, I had a great weekend pondering what noise hippos say. :)
