In which I will ramble about recent family happenings...

First I have to post the beautifulness of my sister doing dishes on TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS... meaning that this dish-doing thing is becoming routine for her!! I've had her do dishes before, but now that this is a routine thing, I am quite excited.

I've also recruited my other sister, Holly, to help me make food recently. I love that I can get her to do things that I am not a fan of - like peeling potatoes or washing lettuce or whatever. :) She also helps my Mom when she cooks. Holly is adorable when she plays "cooking show". So, we'll be in the kitchen and I will put her in charge of something, and she will proceed to pretend like she in on a cooking show and explain every step of the recipe. It is ADORABLE. My Mom and I are grateful for help in the kitchen!

Hope's dish-doing and Holly's cooking reminds me of how my siblings are growing more and more. Holly's birthday in three weeks and I can hardly believe it! It's fun to see them growing up, and it reminds me that I need to start teaching them basketball. :)

Hayden had a surgery on his hamstring and has been on crutches over the past few weeks. Basically the afternoon after he came home goes like this: sit in chair and watch a movie, eat food, homework, eat food, movie, more food, sleep. I feel bad for him since he is in pain and is having to sit out the Spring sport season (he wanted to play lacrosse)... but it is good to know he is his usual self, asking me or my Mom for food every hour! Haha! But since he is on crutches, not only can he not walk, but he can't carry anything. So that is interesting too. But he has gotten way more independent throughout the weeks and can do a lot more on his own now.

My sisters and I like to have competitions on his crutches to see who can catapult them self the furthest. Hehe. It's pretty fun but then I fell off one time a little harder than I wanted to so I decided to stop doing that so I wouldn't hurt myself for basketball. :)

On a side note, my brother and sisters and I are in a play/musical that is happening in May. The girls are singing and each have like two lines each. Hayden has one of the main roles and has a TON of lines! I have a supporting role and have like 20 lines. Thankfully I declined singing a solo, so it's all good. ;) It is interesting coordinating 35 elementary aged kids... I am impressed by what the lady who leads the group can get those kids to do with singing and memorizing and stuff.

Today we have our first tournament basketball game... so I am off to make my oat-meal. :-D
